In business, time is money, and the most efficient people always win the most business. Never did the phrase “drinking from a fire hose” more aptly apply than to knowing the essential options in marketing for any business than today. If you have previously relied on traditional venues such as yellow pages, newspapers and radio, you realize their effectiveness has been redefined by competing options in technology. Setting up a social media account is extremely easy. You may also have seen the usefulness of blogging and associated benefits of widgets, gadgets, plug-ins. Plus, a successful online presence today requires you to have dozens of accounts with various companies to remember.
But what about the maintenance, plus various technical glitches that often happen with these sites? You either have yourself or an employee can literally spend hours jumping through all of the technology hoops, or, you can hire a social media manager to take care of it more efficiently, saving you wasted hours of time.
You as a business owner want to work with someone who “gets it” on how to treat your customers and get up to speed on what matters to your business. I am differentiating myself from others in this industry by leveraging a combination of over 20 years of professional schoolteaching experience, internet marketing and sales copy writing experience, not to mention customer service (I received two separate Employee of the Month for the Customer Service Centers of two large national brands, Albertsons and Chrysler).
If you need help getting all of this set up and properly managed there is no better time than now to do so. Many small businesses are just now getting started in social media and many need help to plan and manage their social media presence efficiently. Most importantly, businesses often need help knowing how to use social media to ask their customers to spend their money. You need to properly engage customers before selling. Unspoken rules of social l media will cause customers to run from a traditional sales pitch.
Things change that fast with marketing and it takes a lot of time and effort to keep up on it all. Social media sites are now outpacing search engine marketing, including Google. We are now hearing terms in internet marketing such as “relationship automation” if you can believe it. But nothing will ever replace the human touch in working with your customers. If you are serious about keeping current on the most effective way to utilize social media it requires a lot of time if you do not set it up the right way.
And while it may have been accepted even a year or two ago that social media sites may not be for everyone, the reality of today is that some of these sites are surpassing even the major search engine sites like Google. Climb Social Media can show you the tools you will need to manage these sites in a short amount of time each day to manage your traffic and sales.
It can take the average business months to learn key components of a social media campaign including Audience Building, Audience Targeting, Reputation Monitoring, Content Creation and Distribution, Facebook Advertising and Contest Management, Blog Management, help with social media reputation management and cost-effective marketing. And most importantly again: how to use social media to ask their customers to spend their money. If you have an organization or business you would like to see gain more exposure, then please attend the first public event of my new business and share your input/feedback.

Climb Social Media, a Social Media Management Company, Will Be Holding a Free Seminar for Local Business Owners at the Sprague Library.

…Many businesses are still debating about whether to utilize social media as a marketing tool, and whether or not to invest resources and commit the maintenance time to run an effective social media campaign. Due to various social media sites and various profiles to create and maintain, the average business owner might conclude that social media is too time-consuming or too expensive.

Presenter Spencer D. Kimball will be holding a free information exchange workshop, “Social Media or Social Mediapathy?” for local business owners from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on May 25, 2011.

The event is held at the Sprague Library in Sugarhouse 2135 South 1100 East. Business owners will be given information to help them keep up with changes to sites such as Facebook, such as the recent Facebook switch to iframes. Also find out how to make your own Fan pages more appealing and why generic looking Facebook fan pages may no longer be enough to keep the interest of your followers.

Free instructional handouts will include an examination of the “How to Slay the Borg” marketing approaches claimed by many entrepreneurs on the internet. With hundreds, if not thousands of social media sites and internet marketing approaches available on the internet is there such a thing as a “best” way to use social media?

This demonstration will cover cost-effective approaches many businesses are currently using successfully, including effective branding, uploading custom backgrounds, how to efficiently link various social media sites to your blog or website, also how to make free or low cost upgrades to your existing Facebook account such as adding Reveal tabs.

Any local business is encouraged to attend to learn some of the latest strategies and the most efficient ways to run your own social media information network for your business. For businesses that would like to contribute, there will also be time set aside for businesses to share different ideas they are using or have developed for social media.

This meeting is open to the public and any prospective business owners, business owners or their representatives are welcome to attend.

Climb Social Media is a recently formed social media management company that partners with a highly experienced webmaster infobytes.com and their 20 employees.
